Freelance Stage Managers

BIGHEAD Comedy are looking for people experienced working in events environments, particularly those with a comedy background, to assist us as stage managers for mixed bills and solo productions of comedy shows in London in 2025.

Job Title: Stage Manager
Rate of Pay: rates dependent on production (starting from £12.50 per hour)
Dates of Work: Freelance throughout 2025

Role

  • Ensuring the smooth operation of a live comedy production from start to finish.
  • Communicating effectively with performers, venue staff and technicians to ensure their needs are met.
  • Dealing with problems that may arise in a timely and calm manner in order to ensure smooth live production.
  • Reporting on any notable incidents from the performance to allow for required changes to be made.
  • Providing a comfortable and friendly atmosphere for performers, staff and audience members aliek.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience working in a live events environment.
  • Enthusiasm for live comedy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Confident and personable working style.

Desirable

  • Experience managing live performance environments.
  • Knowledge of technical aspects of live theatre/comedy production.
  • Knowledge of the UK live comedy world.
  • Experience working with live comedy venues.
